NCSSM Athletics Finishes Strong Year with Second Straight Conference Cup

Durham, N.C. - The NCSSM Athletic teams had a successful varsity athletic season cumulating with their second consecutive Wells Fargo Conference Cup in the Super Six Conference. Some of the yearlong achievements included:

* 5 Regular Season Conference Championships (Women’s XC, Men’s XC, Women’s Golf, Women’s T&F, Men’s T&F)
* 1 Conference Tournament Championship (Men’s Basketball)
* 5 Regional Championships (Women’s XC, Men’s XC, Women’s Golf, Men’s Swimming, Men’s T&F)
* 2 Regional Runner Ups (Women’s Swimming, Women’s T&F)
* 1 State Championship - Women’s Cross Country
* 5 Individual State Championship - Indoor and Outdoor Track 1600M (Andrew Parker), Indoor and Outdoor Track 3200M (Andrew Parker) and Outdoor Track 4x800M (Anderson Adu-Poku, Arthur Zhao, Rafferty Koontz and Andrew Parker).
* Second straight Wells Fargo Conference Cup for the best overall program in the Super Six conference.

During the 2022-23 year, NCSSM had 417 (including multi-sport) student athletes participating in varsity sports. 67 of those students were named to all conference teams with five being named a conference athlete of the year. NCSSM also had seven conference coach of the year awards.
