NCSSM vs. S. Granville

In what most felt would be a nail biter start to finish the Unicorns Wrestling home opener against South Granville lived up to its billing.  After conceding the first two lower weigh matches to forfeits NCSSM Captain Duncan Brown put the UNIs on the scoreboard with a solid 7-1 victory.  Miles Williams followed with a dominant first period fall.  After a tough loss at 145 for Michael Li the UNIs ran off 5 straight victories including a pin by Captain Billy Gottenstrater and a dominant 18-1 tech fall by Captain Matt Nichols.  The most exiting match of the night came at 195 where Brooks Estes battled through at least a dozen hard scrambles before catching his opponent for a pin fall late in the second period.  Elijah  Whitsett sealed the team victory for the UNIs with a pin at Heavyweight.  Final Score UNIs 41 – South Granville 36
