Bio

Gregory M. Jarvis serves as the Athletic Director and Director of Physical Activity and Wellness at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics. He leads NCSSM's 21 varsity sports and the physical activity and wellness program.  He is a Master Certified Athletic Administrator through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.

Jarvis joined NCSSM in July of 2012 and has done several important projects in enhancing the NCSSM athletic programs in his first three years. He launched www.goUNIs.com to give the athletics department a web presence and to spread the word of the program across the state through the site and social media. He has also worked on enhancing and renovating the physical education center and the athletic facilities on campus. Under his direction, the physical education program has strengthened its course offerings and cohesion as a department. In his faculty duties, he teaches Mountain Biking, Hiking, a Sports Information mini term and oversees the academic credit for athletics participation. 

Jarvis previously served as Meredith College’s Assistant Athletics Director, Director of Compliance, Director of Student Athlete Affairs and Sports Information Director. He led the efforts of Meredith’s new athletic logo, new athletics website (goavengingangels.com) and the additions of webcasting and media guides. His duties included supporting seven varsity sports, compiling team statistics, completing athletic marketing materials, web page creation/updates, supporting the Meredith College Golf Classic, and the Office of Marketing by providing public relations duties.
He was also selected by the NCAA to be a facilitator for the NCAA Career in Sports Forum that took place in June 2011 and 2012 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Jarvis holds a Masters degree from North Carolina State University with a concentration in sports management in December 2004 and a Masters of Arts in business communications from Jones International University in May 2004 and a Bachelors of Science with a concentration in consumer studies from Virginia Tech in May 1994.
