About NCSSM Athletics

In addition to the varsity sports on campus, the NCSSM Intramurals program has a 95% participation rate.  Student’s residence halls compete against each other all for the hopes of winning the Chancellor’s Cup for both Men’s and Women’s Halls.   Students find that sports are a great way to release energy and that the discipline helps academically.

 

Under the leadership of NCSSM’s experienced coaches, many individuals and teams have won State Championships, received athletic scholarships, and competed at the Division I collegiate level.  In the past 8 years NCSSM has won State Championships in Men’s Soccer, Men’s Cross Country, Women’s Tennis, Men’s Tennis, Men's Swimming and Men’s Track and Field.  NCSSM has also won three Wachovia/Wells Fargo Cups in the school’s history, the last coming in the 2011-2012 school year.  For the past seven years NCSSM has finished in the top five 1A/2A schools in the state in the prestigious competition.

 

NCSSM is a member of the Super Six 1A/2A Conference starting in the 2021-22 season. The conference will have six members to include: East Wake Academy, Falls Lake Academy, Franklin Academy, NCSSM, Raleigh Charter and Research Triangle High School. Along with our conference foes, NCSSM also plays a variety of public and private schools in the Triangle area.
